Brothers Restaurant at the Red Barn

Delicious food! Everyone was happy with their dinner. The waiter brought out a nice selection of bread with warm butter. We took a while to decide what to order but he was so patient with our group. The steak was cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. The orange cheesecake was different but tasty too. The mudslide dessert was another favorite.

You know it's probably gonna be a good meal when the place smells good as you walk in. Super friendly and efficient service. The waiters worked as a team making sure to help each other out by keeping tables bussed, Bread baskets full and drinks topped off. Even when it was Not their primary table. Everything from the bread and the iced tea to the soup of the day and the entrees to the desert was perfectly prepared. One member of our party ordered steak ... (They have a long history of sending back almost every steak they order)... Not this one! It was perfect. Realty a great place and if we are back in the area we won't miss it! Highest recommendation.

We made an online reservation to celebrate my birthday, and wanted to try the restaurant out for the first time. We mentioned in the reservation that it was our first time coming there to celebrating a birthday and wanted it to be an amazing experience for a special occasion. We were seated quickly when arriving there, and the host staff were all quite friendly. Once we started ordering with the waiter, our experience started to turn a bit less than amazing. Between the two of us, we decided to only order one cocktail and some waters, deciding at the last minute, to not order any appetizers, but just order our meals. At that point, it seemed like the waiter was kind of short and annoyed with us that we hadn’t ordered anything more, and that feeling of standoffishness seem to continue throughout our time there. We noticed the waiter, seeming a lot more friendly to the table next to us, who was also celebrating a birthday, but they seem to be more frequent patrons of the restaurant, which gave us the feeling why he was paying more attention to them, and somewhat short with us. The steaks that we had were both really amazing, but for the price paid and what came on the plate doesn’t really feel like there was as much value given for the prices we paid. Unfortunately, this seems to be a trend now with most restaurants in the SYV area, because of the amount of tourists that come through. I don’t think we would consider returning after this overall experience, and that’s sad to say being a local.

Decent food overall but it could be better considering the price point. The goat cheese stuffed chicken breast was exquisite, and the scallops were cooked to perfection, but the onion soup was barely warm and the Chinese chicken salad was refrigerator cold (shouldn't this at least seem to be prepared fresh?). The wines offerings by the glass disappointed considering the price point, but they have some stylish bottles if you are willing to spring for them. We paid about $100/person. As stated, at that price there shouldn't be so many misses.
